Introduction

  • The Adaptation Scotland programme supports collaborative, locally-led action across a range of sectors and places in Scotland. This includes collaborative networks such as the Public Sector Climate Adaptation Network that brings together 50 public organisations in Scotland to provide leadership on adaptation in their areas and sectors.

Our work also involves supporting Regional Adaptation Partnerships – collaborations of public, private, and community organisations working together to take more effective and wide-scale action to respond to climate risks and work towards a more fair and flourishing future for their places.

  • The Adaptation Scotland programme also works to address some of the critical barriers to adaptation action in Scotland. One of the most pressing issues is exploring how to mobilise sufficient financing and investment for adaptation action – from building-level measures to landscape-scale initiatives.

The programme has produced a range of guides and reports to help better understand these barriers and identify potential opportunities for action.
